Winter Festival Ski Run Marina is proud to host South Lake Tahoe's only kids Winter Festival. The Ski Run Marina Winter Festival is a celebration of ice and snow sculpturing for the entire month of February. The feature attraction is a giant children's sledding hill that is carved by the talented Ski Run Marina grounds crew into a boat, or a whale. This kid friendly sledding hill is illuminated and open most days in February in the afternoons and early evening. The festival goal is produce warm family memories in the coldest month of the year. The full festival is launching in 2012/2013 and has several exciting events planned for the whole family. These events include the Lake Tahoe Avalanche Dog Exhibition, the Rookie Avalanche Challenge, children's snowman building competitions, prizes and raffles. The Festival runs through out February with the biggest events and the raffle being drawn on the last weekend in October.
